What is the ‘solar tax’?

//What is the ‘solar tax’?

This is only for the Unison regions (e.g., Hawke’s Bay, Taupo and Rotorua). If you are a high user (using more than 8500kW per year), then you will get approx. an $18 charge per month for having Solar. 9 times out of 10, domestic homes will fall below the 8500kW threshold after a few months of having Solar, therefore the ‘tax’ will disappear.
