About Ecoefficient

Our Commitment to Smarter, Sustainable Solar

Our mission is simple: to help Kiwis take control of their energy and build a more sustainable future. Since 2016, we’ve been designing and installing solar, battery, and energy-efficient systems that cut costs, reduce grid reliance, and deliver long-term value.

As an award-winning, family-owned business with nearly a decade of experience, we’ve grown to a team of 10, including our own in-house electricians. Along the way, we’ve completed over 1500x installations, earned hundreds of 5-star reviews, and proudly donated more than $46,000 to local charities and community initiatives.

What makes us different is our commitment to people as much as technology. We believe every job should be done to the highest standard and supported for life. That’s why every system comes with a 10-year workmanship warranty and our Lifetime Support Guarantee, giving you confidence we’ll be here whenever you need us.

Our Story

Ecoefficient was founded in 2016 by Laura with a clear mission: to make solar simple, deliver every installation to a highest standard and ensure customers are cared for long after the job is done. She wanted Kiwis to enjoy the benefits of solar power with the backing of a company that genuinely cares.

What began as small contracted teams, quickly grew into a big vision, as more families and businesses embraced renewable solutions. By 2020, Laura’s husband Shaun joined full time, and together they built Ecoefficient into an award-winning & reputable solar company.

Today, we have a team of 10 staff, including our own in-house electricians. We have completed over 1500x solar installations across the country ranging from very small solar systems to some of the largest in our operating areas.

Honesty and transparency remain at the heart of everything we do, reflected in our glowing Google reviews. We’re also very proud to have donated over $46,000 to local charities and supported many community initiatives like our annual Christmas gift-giving we do for families in need.

What matters most to us is that every job is completed to the highest standard and that our customers are supported for life. That’s why we offer a Lifetime Support Guarantee, giving you confidence and peace of mind for decades to come.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had Ecoefficient Solutions NZ install our new solar system and couldn’t be happier with the whole experience. From the initial consultation and advice right through to the final installation, the service was excellent. Communication was clear throughout, the team were professional and easy to deal with, and the quality of the workmanship is outstanding.

We were also really impressed with the quality of the products and equipment they use. The finished installation is extremely tidy and has been completed to a very high standard. It’s clear they take a lot of pride in their work.

We’re very happy with the system and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Ecoefficient Solutions NZ to anyone considering solar.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We recently had a solar power system installed by Ecoefficient Solar and couldn’t be happier. The whole process was handled efficiently, professionally and with great communication.
As a novice, we’ve learned a lot about solar power and how to make the most of our investment. I would have no hesitation recommending and supporting this excellent local provider.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Exceptional service, great contact and communication. Felt like what we were wanting to achieve was listened to and did not try to oversell us what couldn't be done, or we didn't need. On install days the team worked really well together and had good processes in place. We would be very happy to recommend Shaun and the team at Ecoefficient. Looking forward to learning our new Solar world :) Thank to Shaun, Laura and the team.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Shaun and the team have been absolutely amazing to work with. No question was too stupid, no issue was too small. From start to finish extremely happy with the solar set up we have. Looking forward to those long summer days now knowing that we are producing our own electricity. Local to Hawke's Bay was a big plus for us as well. Thanks Shaun and the team. Highly recommend Eco Efficient. 10/10

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We are very happy with our system design and install. Throughout the entire process communication was great and everything explained thoroughly. Special mention to the install team who endured possibly the 2 coldest days of the year on our roof! The ongoing support available post install with meter changes and app help was a key in choosing eco-efficient and has been excellent.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Deciding on solar is a process that brings up numerous options, jargon and technicalities that can quickly become confusing. Shaun at Ecoefficient solutions guided us through the process of choosing a system that suited us, vs simply achieving a sale. Shaun’s knowledge, expertise and common-sense approach as well as his patience with our questions provided us confidence and the communication throughout the install process was excellent. The install team were friendly, tidy and treated our install as though it was their own house. Very happy with the results and the system and have great confidence in knowing the service continues past the system being completed.
