Thinking of going OFF GRID?
We use high quality panels, inverters and batteries when designing and implementing off-grid set-ups
- Electric elements are extremely difficult to power in an ‘off-the-grid’ setup. Therefore, we recommend Gas for your hot water, Gas for your oven and hobs, and either Gas or a Fire only for your heating. If you can implement this, then your costs of purchasing Solar and Batteries is a lot more affordable.
You won’t be able to run a spa pool or swimming pool easily (or at all)
You won’t be able to run high use appliances such as a dryer or workshop tools.
You’ll need a generator for some dim days during winter.
Your panels will last 25+ years but your batteries and inverters will need replacing after 10 years or so.
Review
“We moved in and started using our offgrid system at the very beginning of July (closest to the shortest day!) and the system has exceeded our expectations! Batteries are fully charged by 10-11am even if it’s raining and we are operating a normal house hold with a heat pump, dishwasher, water pump etc. Thank you so much to Laura and the Ecoefficient team for working with us to make our off-grid dream come true”
Embracing a Grid-Free Lifestyle:
How Solar energy empowers off-grid living in a land of natural beauty
The growing desire for a more sustainable and self-sufficient way of life has led many to consider going off-grid. Off-grid living, or living independently of public utilities, offers the opportunity to reconnect with nature, reduce one's ecological footprint, and gain a sense of freedom. In a country known for its stunning landscapes and commitment to environmental preservation, solar energy plays a crucial role in enabling and empowering this grid-free lifestyle, providing a reliable and eco-friendly source of power for those who choose to live off-grid.
Harnessing the Sun to Go Off-Grid
Solar energy is an ideal choice for those looking to live off-grid, as it offers a clean, renewable, and virtually limitless source of power. By installing solar panels and a battery storage system, off-grid dwellers can generate and store electricity for use in their daily lives, ensuring they have a reliable source of energy even when the sun isn't shining. The ability to go grid-free and still have access to electricity provides numerous advantages, including:
Greater self-sufficiency: By generating their own power through solar energy, those who live off-grid gain a sense of self-reliance and independence. This autonomy allows them to better control their energy consumption and reduce their reliance on non-renewable energy sources.
Reducing environmental impact: Solar energy is a clean and green power source, producing no harmful emissions or contributing to climate change. By choosing to go off-grid with solar power, individuals can minimize their environmental footprint and promote a more sustainable way of living.
Cost savings: While the initial investment in a solar energy system for off-grid living can be substantial, the long-term cost savings can be significant. By generating their own power, off-grid dwellers can avoid the expense of connecting to the grid and paying for traditional utility services.
Remote living opportunities: Solar energy enables individuals to live off-grid in remote or rural locations, free from the constraints of traditional infrastructure. This freedom to go grid-free allows for greater flexibility in choosing where to live and opens up a wider range of possibilities for sustainable living amidst breathtaking scenery.
Disaster resilience: Off-grid living powered by solar energy provides a level of resilience in the face of natural disasters or power outages. With a self-contained energy system, off-grid dwellers can maintain access to electricity even when the grid is down, ensuring essential services and appliances remain operational.
Solar energy is a key component in enabling and empowering a grid-free way of life in a land characterized by its natural beauty and commitment to sustainability. By harnessing the power of the sun, off-grid dwellers can enjoy the benefits of self-sufficiency, environmental responsibility, and cost savings, while also embracing the freedom and flexibility of remote living. As the technology behind solar energy systems continues to advance, the potential to go off-grid and live off-grid becomes increasingly accessible, empowering individuals to redefine what it means to lead a sustainable and self-reliant life.
