This provides you with high pressure, a cupboard space back, 300L of water ready to go and most importantly, a reduced power-bill π§

This is a heat pump type hot water which offers up to ~3x efficiency (1kw of electrical energy gives 3kw of thermal heating), works well in temps above 3-4 degrees, not so efficient when Jack Frost hits. Only downside is fan noise, so don't have the outdoor unit backing onto a bedroom. I'm not convinced they would last 40+ years like an old cylinder would, but return would be much less than that.

You used to be able to sell power back to the grid until the government cappped it and made it not viable that's why solar is not worth it cost too much so much for green freindly nz

Why do our customers go Solar? Read the below to hear one person's reasoning for opting for Solar and a Battery!
"We decided to go solar after many years of procrastinating, researching and working out the sums. As prices came down it was becoming more attractive, but the final push was the HBRC Regional Council making low interest loans available to get into solar. We worked out that our monthly cost paying the Council would equal our power bill, so from thereon in it became a no-brainer. We obtained 3 quotes and went with Ecoefficient whose representative was the most knowledgeable and was prepared to think well outside the box. (Where a nation wide company could only fit 5 panels on our garage roof, Laura managed to fit 22 panels with room for 4 more......) We had the system a little over-engineered, so at a slightly higher initial cost we now have sufficient production to also cover an electric car once we are able to obtain one that meets our requirements. The additional battery was initially dismissed as too uneconomical. But with some more research, the drop of battery prices and the low interest rates we decided to go the whole hog. We now have a system that produces sufficient for our needs, and because of the battery we do not have to think about when to turn on what appliance. We live our electric live just as before the installation of the solar system and joy, we even have a credit with the power company. Can't wait now to get an EV and make the best use of the available power."

We went and visited this lovely new home built by Design Builders to check on his production and his Tesla battery. First thing in the morning on an extremely overcast day and he was already producing a fair amount of power! β‘οΈβ‘οΈβ‘οΈ
